Hydrocarbon - A More Accurate Term - Than Fossil Fuel Which Hides So Much
A real issue is the yet to be done - clean up of the vast messes - from the mining, processing and burning of hydrocarbon.
Hydrocarbon is a more accurate term - than fossil fuel. A real issue is - the mining, production of hydrocarbons - oil, 'natural' gas, etc - and then the burning of hydrocarbons which makes a hell of a massive mess plant wide.
At best fossil fuel is a theory or two. https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Fossil_fuel
Whether the term - fossil fuel - has little or no merit it may be another slight of hand for various agendas. Is there any proof that hydrocarbons - oil and coal in particular - are actually from dear ol fossils. What fossils? Is it really shown that 'fossils' really were at all the places across the planet (and more places every day). It doesn't take much to blow up the fossil theory (story). Geologists might have found evidence of fossils. Have they? Where? When? Where did the fossil story come from?
Some will say fossil fuels is so sweet, nice, charming, even romantic, enchanting. Thus never mind, it is simpler to say than oil, gas (‘natural’ gas), coal. Also it is not tarnished with the incredible, horrific messes of coal mining, and probably much worse oil drilling, shale oil, and who knows what messes natural gases mining and processing makes.
Hydrocarbons are real. Fossil fuels as a term used today may be another useful story to confuse various issues for other agendas. Another story for sloppy minds.
Another useful story, whether true or not, used as another cover story.
Hydrocarbons certainly is a more exact term.
Whatever terms are used the messes need to be cleaned up. And that issue is mostly out of the picture. How convenient.
Clean up the messes. That will nurture the planet considerably...

It is beyond absurd to use so called 'logic' (aka unfounded belief) to come to the outrageous conclusion - if the mining, production and burning of hydrocarbons is making a incredible mess then there should be no more production and burning of hydrocarbons.
A more reasonable, appropriate, useful approach would be to clean up each and every mess. Not pay a fine and leave the messes partially cleaned up or worse. Or just ignoring the messes. Or using the messes to justify political agendas make gains for oneself and friends.
That is called abuse of power.
Enough of the usual yada attempting to justify the unjustifiable.
Clean up all the human caused harmful, toxic, dangerous messes on planet Earth.

(Japan's dumping of Fukashima Nuclear Plant radioactive water is not a clean up.
It is a mess dumped into the Pacific Ocean. Hoping a diluted mess is better - it is not.
There are plenty of ways that will clean it up. But that requires actual effort and considerable resources.)
